With it raining this weekend 90% all the way to Monday I figured I would take off today and go hunt however I didn't know a typhoon wind storm would be here today in the area haha. I figure I probably won't be going out this weekend with it the weather. On the way home it hit me that Time changes Sunday.
I have my feeders going off at 6:45am with deer showing up about 7:20am per my cameras however I forgot to change the actual time on my feeders back an hour. I won't be going back out for sure until the 13th of November since I be on family vacation between now and then. Do you all think it will affect the pattern of the deer since my feeder timer won't be set back an hour? I'm making sure no matter what there is enough corn on the ground at all times either way.

What are your opinions? What have y'all done in the past ?

After checking my cameras when I got home I finally saw my first bucks !!!!!!

Thanks.

There is no need to change your feeding times because the clock on your feeder isn't going to change on its own. The sun is still going to rise and set at essentially the same time, so as long as you don't change the clock of the feeder you'll still be feeding at the same time relative to sunrise/set.

I usually don't change the time on mine unless I have too. Now we are losing light now so I will be changing my throw times this weekend. I don't want them coming in too early in the mornings.

This particular question has caused some spirited debate on our property. No need to change the timers at all. We eventually do when we refill the feeders mid-season but not at DST. Nothing better than watching a grown man try to explain to you how DST is going to change the time your feeder throws corn by a whole hour!

Still, some folks just can't cope with remembering their feeder will go off an hour later according to time shown on their watch.

With the time change occurring a week before the season opener, there won't be those who wake up an hour late when their cell phones automatically adjust their time settings, causing the alarm to go off an hour later (according to the sun) than the day before. Some may have to think about this for a minute or two.

I never move anything but the minute hand as the days start getting shorter. I'll be moving it from the 7;15 that it is set at now to 7:30. I like to throw 5 minutes or so before shooting light. HOWEVER, I will be changing all the clocks in my cameras. I like to have the correct time printed on the photos.

True, but they sure know when a feeder will go off. Often mine are there ordering drinks waiting on the feeder.

Here the trick...........don't tell the feeder there is a time change and it will still go off an hour before sunrise...............or will it????????????? Like ever opening morning, I'm sitting out there in the dark in the blind wondering....is it going to go off....shouldn't it have gone off by now.....did I mess it up changing everything with the time change.

That is great! The deer won't know what to do if you didn't fall back an hour. lol35

The KEY is to plan ahead! Don't set your feeder on DST to begin with!
