My wife's grandpa gave me a Remington model 1100 in 410 caliber. It is mint condition and says skeet model on the side. It is an older gun just not sure of the year. Also has some factory engraving on the sides and on the bolt. Would never sale, just have not seen many and was curios what the value is. Any help will be appreciated.

Gunbroker.com will be your friend for determining value. I can tell you that a .410 1100 will be much more uncommon than it's 12 and 20ga brethren and highly sought after by some. Those some being far better shotgunner's than I - I must throw as much lead downrange as humanly possible. A skeet grade will be a fair bit higher value than a field grade gun. That's gonna be a pricey gun right there.

I inherited one also, they seem to go for ~$1400 + or - $300 depending on condition and how bad somebody wants it.

When my dad was growing up, my grandpa had a matching set of 1100s with consecutive #s. 410, 28, 20, 16 and 12. My dad's brother (he doesn't qualify as an uncle) pawned them in 1970 to buy some dope. My grandpa was able to get the 28, 20 and 12 back. He found the guy that bought the 410 and 16 but he wouldn't sell them back to my grandpa even for twice what he gave the pawn shop. He went back to his house with the other shotguns to show the matching #s and a $1000 bill, guy wouldn't budge. I now have the 28 and 20 and my brother has the 12.

I inherited one back in 2008. To help out Mom, I sold it on GB for $1300 by my records.

He should have bought a cheap gun at the pawn shop to shoot his brother with

Yep, 5 shotguns for 5 kids. My dad was left the three that made it because he had the only kids (my brother and me) that would appreciate the shotguns.
