My 13yr old son recently had a birthday and is wanting to spend his money on a rifle that he can call his own. He is set on buying a 25-06 or 7mm-08 after doing some research. If any of you should have either of these rifles you would be willing to sell, please shoot me a PM so I can share with him.

Thanks in advance.

I've seen some good deal recently at Academy on the 7mm-08. You might start there, Bass Pro and Cabelas....I think they all have deals going right now.

The Savage Axis is $299 at Cabelas. $50 Rebate with $20 Cabelas Bucks back on a $100 Purchase.
And I have a $20 off coupon I will send you if you want to do it to help your son get a gun.
Plus $25 back on $50 of Federal ammunition.

If I were you, I'd get him the Ruger American in .243. Good all around caliber for about anything and a lot less recoil than the 7mm-08 which equates to being a lot more comfortable to shoot well at that age. You can even find a package deal including a Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 scope for right around $500. These are really really good rifles with many features found on rifles easily 3-4x as expensive.
