Things are coming along nicely as we're just a few days away from the opener! Didn't have to many blowouts/washouts from the rain over the weekend and we've been able to fix the ones that did without losing to much water. We'll finish brushing blinds and any touch up work on Thursday. More birds definitely rode the north wind down with this full moon as more and more were present every morning this week that we went to check on things. Lots of specks are already down and about 50 snows arrived last night as well. We'd imagine more and more birds should be arriving into the weekend with another front on the way and the bright moon at night. Hope you enjoy all the pictures and we're getting fired up for the season!



The hunting part is a blast, but the prep-work and chess match of when to do what is just as addicting to us!



As you can see from all our pictures that have been posted over the last couple months, we've put a ton of work into our properties to provide the best habitat around!

scarcity of birds in Texas..What is your forecast???

Yes we're hunting open day. As of Wed(28th) we aren't completely loaded up on every pond/body of water, but the ponds that are holding ducks are holding a pretty good herd. Our stuff closer to the coast is holding the biggest herds right now. The birds have so many options because of all the rain, so you'll have to put in some serious time scouting and checking every ounce of everything to locate them. Water is running off fields as I type this, so the birds are slowly losing so many options. More birds are also arriving every day/night with this full moon. I think Sat is going to be really good for the guys that have birds and have put in the time to find them and really slow for the guys that just go to a pond and hope for the best in the rain. Birds are going to get moved around pretty good with it being opening day, but if you aren't right on the 'X' you better throw a pretty big spread on big water to try and get them to come take a look. Otherwise they'll go find a wet field with geese and sit with them since there are a few good herds down already.

Received a handful of calls and emails over the last two days from people interested in dates and more details. A few locked down hunts and others are checking with customers or buddies to decide on dates and get back with me. If you're interested in hunting with us this season, especially in Nov or Dec, we need to hear from you ASAP. We don't over book or over pressure our birds, so once we're booked that's it. We don't have many Dec days left either and waiting till the last minute to call us will probably result in you not getting to hunt with us.
