For the first time in years our kids are not coming here for thanksgiving. We would like to go somewhere within reasonable driving distance for an overnight or two with a nice meal AND can accommodate our small dog. Any suggestions??

Fredericksburg. Check out "Gasthaus Schmidt", for cool places to stay.Fredericksburg is a neat place. See if you can rent the "root cellar". A cool place north of town.

Thanks Erathkid - great website for FBG. Been there several times but never stayed in a Sunday house, think we will do that. Thanks again.

You bet. We've stayed at the "root cellar" and the the little cabin in the oaks. Near Luckenback. Deer in the yard, 5 minutes to town. We had a blast. Even climbed the rock. Try "Hill top"restaurant, west of town, for great music and Cajun style eats. Johnny Nicholas is the owner/musician...Good times.
