For those of you who have eaten fallow, what is your opinion?

It's good. I don't like it as much as many other animals. But I wouldn't throw it away. Probably make sausage out of it or hamburger and not steaks. Maybe some jerky or buck sticks.

I shot a 6-7 year old fallow buck last October and all of the ground meat (with 10% suet) was fantastic. In my opinion, it was a tad better than the Sika, Blackbuck, Whitetail, and Axis in my freezer.

I put just about the same as Sika, maybe just a tad behind, but better than Whitetail. I do think that it's close enough to Sika that slight differences in diet will affect the ranking.

Good. No axis. Equal to Blackbuck and Sika and WT on my scale.

Of course, taste depends alot on diet. Corn fed fallow is GREAT. But other stuff is better.

IT'S GOOD.
SHOOT IT.
EAT IT.
BE HAPPY IN YOUR LIFE.

I think it's a cross between venison and beef. I have killed two and both ate VERY good....steaks, burger, sausage didn't matter.

Amen. Comparable in taste to Texas whitetail but tougher. Beats blackbuck but Axis is much better.

I have tasted best and worst fallow deer meat.
Diet, age and care of the meat are the main factors. argue
