My nephew connected with a buck this evening with a crossbow in Johnson City. They followed blood for a while but lost the trail. He has school in the morning, so my brother had to take my nephew home a few minutes ago. Plan is to go back at first light to keep looking. Does anyone know of someone with dogs in the area that could help out? I wasn't there, but I'm told that there was a good blood trail then they lost it in high grass/brush.

A quick search on Texas Blood Trackers gives the following names of tracking dog handlers in the area:
Courtney Farris 830-220-4747 Llano county +2 hrs
Kendall Collier 512-626-1652 Travis +surrounding
Eric Cantrill 512-756-2797 Burnet County and surrounding.
Good luck!

Thanks for the help. They looked for several hours today with the help of a dog, but no luck. It's one of those unfortunate things that happens sometimes. I will say that they gave every effort possible to find the deer. All of the neighboring landowners have been asked to keep an eye out for a wounded buck or buzzards.
