While we are on the topic of finding Mr Play Maker some eland, I'm curious what eland cost and how tall of a fence you need. Is 8 ft fence enough?

If they are bottle fed you don't need 12 foot fences. If they are ranch raised, the fences could be 18 feet and that might be tall enough.

Ranch I was on in Namibia had 14 foot fences to keep Eland and Kudu in.

I have eland behind an 8' fence. As long as the eland are all on the same side and not pressured it's fine. Otherwise it's an honor system. And there's no honor among elands.
