Had a very eventful night in the stand. had prob 15 different bucks come out in the field with me. They are getting territorial and spent the night sparring and chasing each other around. The big 8 got in a decent fight under me and let me get a good video of it. "if i knew how to post videos i would." After that he controlled the feeder and is by far the dominate buck in the area. As much as I wanted to let some arrows fly I still had an amazing night just watching and learning. I don't care how many deer I see, watch work or kill I will never know all there is that they can teach me.

Great hunt is right. Some of my best hunting memories are hunts that I didn't fire a shot.

Had several bull 8's over the years dominate all comers. Just meaner than the rest.

Great pics of some really nice bucks. That 12 will be a stud if he makes it another year or two.

Good luck this season. up

Wow what a hunt. Must be a great ranch you're hunting.

Pitchfork predator that's what I was thinking. The 12 appears to be young right? I was thinking somewhere in that 3-4 year old range. Thanks again everyone for the kind remarks. These deer are all Texas native deer just have been managed and fed properly. The ranch is an amazing place to hunt. It's not mine I'm just lucky enough to be a friend that can visit it. Nights like that one are a great example of what proper management can do.

I think you are correct on the age of the 12 pt in calling him middle-aged. He is a great deer now, but will get much better with age.
