I have a late sixties 788 that was born a .222 rem and was re-chambered to .222 Mag. The wood and bluing are in pretty good shape with no major dings or blemishes or anything. It has a very light trigger, and also kind of a strange flaw in the safety. The safety works but if you put the safety on and then take it off sometimes you have to do it again or re cycle the action. Not sure why it does that but I do not want to sell it without disclosing that.
The gun is exceptionally accurate, even with the old Remington Hi Speed ammo I have. I like it a lot but am moving a different direction with my collection.
$600 with Three boxes of Remington Hi Speed ammo. $500 and I will keep the ammo. Would consider a trade for any left handed wood stock rifle or a Marlin Lever in .375 Win.
Live in Temple but am in Austin and San Antonio every week. Text me for pics at 702-287-1464
