I work for Pulsar and we do night vision and thermal. What do you recommend for 100 yards and in for hog hunting. I used 110 grain hornady vmax. And I realize it's not ideal for hogs. My thermal scope is awesome but I need to be able to bring the big ones down on the run. Any ideas?

The 125's are perfect for pigs in the 300 blk out. They are going fast enough for perfect mushroom shaped expansion, and penetrate deep enough to knock them down. I run the 125 SST and 125 BT. The other good one is the 110 Barnes Tipped TSX. http://dallasreloads.com/product-category/300-black-out/

YEP, X2 what Chad said. I have had good luck with 125 SP, 125 SST, and Barnes TSX.

Any of the varmint bullets will open up too quick and/or fragment and limit penetration. A good head shot will generally be effective with these bullets. But a shoulder or body shot will lack penetration. The 125's are a little slower and heavier, and penetrate very well.
Also, the 150 grain BT bullets will go clean through big pigs. I have had pass throughs with the 150 BT, one on a very large hog running from about 40-50 yards right behind the shoulder. Exit was about dime size, so I don't think they are expanding as good as the 125's are.
From my customer feedback and my personal experience, the 125's offer the best overall performance for the blk out.

The nosler factory ammo for the 110 varmageddon is a sedate 2150 fps at the muzzle. Even a thin jacket varmint bullet should penetrate decently at that speed.

I would agree that the 125 SST or BT along with the Barnes 110TSX would be the best. Over on the 300BO forum, there is two threads about kills with 110gns, one a moose and one a elk...one was a Nosler and one the Hornady 110 SST. The comments were that they both exited.

Stick with Barnes 110TSX tipped. Very accurate and they do a nice job on hogs. I popped two hogs this weekend with Barnes. The only round I would stay away from is Remington Hog Hammer. I can't get a good grouping out of them. Barnes is a 1" group and Remington is a 4" group.
God bless John Wayne!

Has anybody tried the sig 125 grain super sonic ammo? Its supposed to have a sierra match king bullet in it. I know thats not really meant to be a hunting bullet but neither is an a-max.
