I am preparing to work up some long range AR15 loads chambered in 223 Wylde using 77 gr SMK, Nosler Comp and Berger Tactical for the purpose of long range accuracy. I have purchased new brass from Lake City, Remington and Winchester and looking for advice as to which brand of brass provides the most consistency. Thoughts?

Any of them are great to reload/ need to try some of each. I have found that some guns like certain brass better than others, just like the bullets you load& the seating depth of them. Trial & error will get you the best load for your AR/ hope this helps.

if there are 10 brands of .223 brass available, you'll get 10 favorites. When I'm loading "match" AR loads with the long VLD style bullets, I'll use Norma or Lapua, single feed and use a brass catcher net. everything else I like Winchester or Federal but its hard to find the Fed..

All are good. LC is decent, RP is good as well as Winchester. Winchester will get you the most internal case volume to have more powder to push the heavier bullets faster. I run Win and Norma brass in my 223's for precision. For plinking and such, I'll use LC or WCC, and even mixed head stamps.

Brass is brass.

Worry about the condition and checking the measurements to ensure it's in spec.
