It matters to the guys that practice quite a bit so they are prepared to make difficult shots. And it matters to guys that load their own ammo (usually the same shooter/ hunter) and have to scrounge for components, including powder. The increase in recoil does not help in witnessing impact and therefore the ability to confirm a good hit, or more importantly, make a fast corrected follow up shot.

I'm not judging you, just telling you how the other side looks at it, at least from my perspective.

Nope, I consider that a fair response.....especially if components are hard to come by

all of which goes back to what i said earlier

LA suck
WBY cartridges suck

Again verified speeds on the wby. I shoot 115vlds and 80gr ttsx's I also have 6.5 CM, I get the CM efficiency's

But that's not what TTX8 was asking for. He was looking for a simple comparison of ballisticly where it stood.

CM does exactly what it was designed to do. Every efficient SA cartridge. I'm sure the 22cm is just as efficient as the 6 and 6.5cm.

If you want to still think the 22cm will have a ballistic advantage and on game performance advantage over a 257 wby running 115vlds I don't know what to tell ya.

Bobo gets exactly what I was saying.

I was not touting the weatherby as being superior I was simply using it as a comparison since its a commonly known, fast, flat shooting, mildly recoiling round

Nosler at ~3.80 around..... pretty sure the creed is going to come in at a lot less than .25 cents per round difference. because what exists sucks.....sorry will a .257 get the job done yes, i wouldn't want to get shot by a WBY but you asked for the comparison..... the tread was about killing animals now its about killing WBYs

Where exactly do you buy 22 CM ammo from and for how much?

You can load a 257 wby for less than $3.80 a bang too.

But do you really want to shoot varmints with 60 grains of powder and 110s that seems little silly

I agree no, but I wouldn't hesitate to shoot pronghorn, mule deer, white tails etc with it. For the record I have shot raccoons with a 7mm wby and 160 grain partitions, much to my buddies dismay. Whole problem is someone flew off the handle when a simple question was asked.

Different tools for different jobs is all. And there are tools that some guys prefer over others. I would not go Pronghorn, Mule deer, or whitetail hunting with my .22-250 or the .22 Creedmoor. I would use my 6.5 Creedmoor, or my 7 Rem Mag, because that is my preference. I also would choose not to go prairie dog hunting with my 6.5 Creedmoor or my 7 Rem Mag when the .22-250 or .22 Creedmoor is a more appriate tool for the job, in my way of thinking. But I do not begrudge the hunters Derrick put up photos of. They obviously are competent with themselves and have confidence in their cartridge of choice.

It's hard to argue when there are photos of dead bodies that were killed from far away.

i get it rolling your own is cheaper and availability of "off the shelf" is convenient... there it is TT85 the WBY beats the creed in the catagory "availability of off the shelf ammo".

Now lets look at making our own...... its not even close as creed brass is 620 for a 1k pieces and the cheapest 257 was 1160 for 1K, too many; ok 62 vs 116 for 100 pieces 40 bucks just in brass, projectiles and primer are prob a wash... the the 20grns less powder 2:1 at worst...... numbers don't look pretty for the belted magnum

Well this derailed quick, We charge 38 per box of 22 creed to each his own we have built plenty of both. I personally will not own a WBY cartridge but don't mind building them, they are just not my style, but if thats what you want to use great. I have 2 rifles I run the 22 Creed for everything Mule Deer and under and the 28 nosler for Mule deer and bigger. To each their own.

Amen... And if one fellow doesn't have time to reload and only shoots commercial ammo, and another pays for customs reloads that is ok also. cheers
