Definitely cool. What kind of steel do you use for something like that?

I build all my knives from old carbon sawmill blades, non tipped. Most of them are 22"-36" in dia.

So is there any forging involved or is that all stock-removal work? Sorry for all the questions, looks like you do some great work!

What is the proper angle to grind a cleaver? Mine needs a do over?

I thought I had a nice cleaver before I opened this thread...

DuckCoach I do not forge. Those old blades are pretty hard already. It's just stock removal as you say.

Cast I really don't know that there is a proper grind angle on a cleaver. Some have a slight bow and some are just a flat straight blade. Guess it just depends on what you want or like the best.
