For whatever reason, I am having trouble connecting with my trainer but I'd like my vizsla to go somewhere for a week or two just for a refresher before the season. Or at least connect with someone a few times to go over some things. Any one have any suggestions or want to get together? I don't have much time in my life right now so sending him somewhere is best but can work something out I'm sure.
He's trained and in good shape from running a lot all summer, I just haven't been 100% diligent on discipline and he hasn't been on a bird since last year.

Also, and I don't know how long this would take to implement, but I would like to train him for "here" on the tone of the collar for when he is out of my yelling range. If that is possible.

I know you're right Bill, I just don't want to be like those yankees that think they're dog is awesome before the hunt.

It doesn't take long at all to train to recall on the tone. You don't use a whistle?

It doesn't take long at all to train to recall on the tone. You don't use a whistle? No sir. He turns on his name when hunting, but he ranges big so if there's much wind he can't hear me. Need to introduce whistle or tone for sure. Just don't know how.

I haven't used the whistle since my second big running pointer. I couldn't keep it out of my mouth.

Its easy and you can do it yourself. Just use the tone every time you say Here. Vs are smart and he will have it down in no time. I use the tone for my dogs to look at me if I'm changing directions, and I want them to move to the front.

I'll start doing that for sure. So simple. Thought there would be more to it.
