I am looking for just a basic gun sling. I know this sounds silly, but I have bought 3 different gun slings and I don't care for any of them. The rifle is either constantly sliding off my shoulder or I can't get the length right.
I just want a basic sling that works well and is under $30 bucks. Which ones do y'all like to use?

I have used several, but my favorite and the one I have switched exclusively to are the "Claw" slings. Since they are rubber they don't slip off my shoulder and they provide a nice rest under the gun when shooting out of a stand.

Yep. Absolutely love mine. Especially for the price. Academy sells em, as does cabelas, and I'm pretty sure I've seen em at walmart

express sling outdoor connection waco
been putting these on all my long guns. quiet. one hand adjustable. inexpensive. no flex or bounce while slung and walking like the neoprene slings i've had in the past. it should really be called a carrying strap as opposed to a rifle sling that's used as a shooting brace.

My favorite is a spongy neoprene sling from GrovTec. It's like the Tempurpedic of slings.

I had the same problem with rifles sliding off my shoulders and tried the Butler Creek Neoprene and they are great! They have a tacky surface that prevents sliding on shoulder and they stretch which softens impact when walking. I have put them on all hunting rifles and shotguns. Butler Creek Neoprene Sling
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Another vote for the Claw. It won't slip off, and it won't squeak.

I use the one hand adjustable leather Murray rifle slings. Made in Aledo, Texas. Not cheap.

Call me crazy, but I love the USGI canvas web slings. They are cheap and they are great shooting slings. These were designed to be used as an aid when shooting, not just to carry a rifle. I got used to using one shooting my Garand in matches and now use them on my hunting rifles. http://www.fulton-armory.com/slingwebnewblack.aspx

I also like the Fighter Design lightweight sling.

Another fan of the claw here. They're a little ugly but won't slip, are comfortable and don't cost an arm and a leg.

The Claw sling is great. Also, Limbsaver makes one that I like a little better.

Another vote here for The Claw Slings as they keep your gun from slipping if you do a lot of walking or stalking. I don't recommend the camo ones as the paint starts peeling and they start looking crappy almost right away.

Vero Vellini slings are by far the best I've used. Most on my guns are Quick Slings though.

I agree with the guys. The Claw is great, inexpensive, and will not slide off like most do.
