Well after two years of looking for a place to hunt Bob (my 12 year old son) went on his first hunt over the weekend aim

He went on a Pronghorn hunt at Dalhart TX that was put on by the Texas Youth Hunting Program.
His Guide drove here from Huston and was wonderful with him. This was the first game he ever had in his sights, and he took it with one shot elmer . He used his .308 savage Axes and 150 grain soft point Perfecta ammo.

The Texas Youth Hunter Program hunts are usually on one ranch per hunt, But this one was on multiple privet property's and the Rita Bianka National Grasslands, and covered 3 County's. This hunt was meticulously planned and carried out perfictly clap .

Some one on this forum recommended the Texas Youth Hunting Program to me, who ever that was thank you from the bottom of my hart. My son struggles from several learning disability's and a coordination problem, he needed a win. You sir made my son's dream and prayers come true up .

I have a friend who helped Bob get his weapon sighted in and showed him how to shoot properly, I extend my thanks to all who helped him.

Thank You
Robert

Great story and overall experience. I know tpwd does a lot of things that creates a lot of discussion both good and bad. But...this is one program that I think everyone agrees is just OUTSTANDING.

I have suggested The TYHP to so many people. It is a great program. My son was in it for 5 years. He also has disabilities. He learned so much from the hunt masters. It gave him the opportunity to hunt in places that I could have never given him. He met people from all over the state. I just can't say enough about how great the program is.
Congratulations Bob !! I hope you get to go on many more hunts.
