I am on a lease with TAFFMASTER down in London, TX. These pictures gave us a lot of excitement and then a lot of anger. Get this. See the date and time on the last one? 6:07PM. The camera card was pulled at 6:16PM. They must've heard the truck coming and scattered. Hunted for them all weekend, no axis in sight. I'd love to get some feedback from the forum. They come to feeders consistently but the second we get to the lease they seem to have a sixth sense and vacate the premises. Smart animals, because any axis I see will be taking an immediate dirt nap.

Very nice herd you have there.

Well don't drive a truck up or check your cards til the weekend is over. Avoid the area other than sneaking into the stand.

I have hogs doing the same thing to me. Look and camera pic's. Hogs show up at 6:30 PM like clock work. Then I show up and nothing shows. I think my hogs hear me drive over the cattle guard. On my Axis I put out alfalfa three days before I come down to hunt. They hang around for alfalfa.

We are just north of you near Hext. We have hunted there for 12 years and the only axis we have ever seen was on the road dead. But we have got two free range black buck. Good luck getting to them.

Get there before way before the feeder goes off and you will get them up

Check cards just before leaving the ranch. Keep vehicle traffic to a minimum. Park a half mile out from where you plan to hunt and walk in the remaining way. Or get an electric powered buggy/golf cart. I've been seeing more axis than ever by doing this. I think the additional supplemental water stations helped tremendously as well.

I have had the best luck on the first day of hunting with axis. The less vehicle traffic the better.

Good luck. I used to hunt south of London about 6 or 7 miles and we saw one Axis in 10 years. Is your place high fence ?

Next time you go put out a whole dail of Alfalfa hay it's like candy to them. Make sure you spread it around.

This. Keep movements and noise to a minimum.

They will get used to normal traffic on the ranch. Even to the point of recognizing vehicles. a strange pickup and they will go into hiding
