VERY LONG POST AND LOTS OF PICS.....HOPE YOU ENJOY IT

Danny and I were blessed to be able to go on a Dream Hunt in Moscow,Id. There are so many people to thank. First and foremost, want to thank our dear friend Bruce Compton (Southern Pines). If it weren't for him, we would have never known about the great organization The Outdoor Dream Foundation. Bruce sent in Dannys application for this hunt. Brad Jones & Suzanne Jones Carnes run an incredible operation providing kids with terminal illnesses and disabilities Dream Hunts. These folks go all out to make sure that kids go on a hunt of a lifetime. They sent Danny a rifle, all the clothes and gear he needed from Sandy Run Outdoors as well as got us to Idaho. When we got there, we were met by Danny's mentor hunter, Jay. He picked us up at the airport and we headed to camp. Jay is part of the committee of the Palouse-Whitepine Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation Chapter #160 in Moscow, Id. He, along with about 15 other committee members partook in this hunt. All of these great people, as well as others, took time out to make sure the we had everything we needed for the hunt. They set up one heck of a camp, 3 delicious square meals a day. 4 wheelers to get around Moscow Mountain and the love and knowledge of the area in order to make it a successful hunt. After getting settled in, Danny received some shooting tips from Cliff and ensured his rifle was still sighted in after the plane ride. We enjoyed a great meal and got to know each other over a nice campfire. The following morning we met up with Abe and Scott and their awesome hounds to hunt a bear. We rode around in the 4 wheelers and side by sides until we got a strike and released the hounds. It didn't take long to have the bear treed and then a brief 1/2 mile jaunt up and down the mountain to where the dogs were. We had to sit on a log for a few minutes to catch our breath before Danny could position himself for the shot. He made quick work of the situation and was immediately nick named "Dead eye Dan". The following day we set out for Moose, we had a few encounters with some bulls and cows but couldn't get everything lined up right for the shot. We spent all of the next two days searching high and low for Danny's bull. We rode 40 - 50 miles each day on the 4 wheelers all over the mountain to no avail. Finally,on the last morning, at first light, the stars aligned and Danny had a Bull Moose dead in his sights @ 115 yds. He took it down with one shot from his .308. The celebrating began and then the work. After going down the draw where the bull was and a whole mess of picture taking, we had to use two of the 4 wheelers to winch the beast up to the road and then loaded him up to take him back to camp. Everyone help dressing and skinning it and there were smiles all around. Although the main objective of the trip was the hunt, we walked away with precious lifelong memories and a whole mess of new friends. There aren't enough words to express the gratitude we have for ALL involved on this great adventure. Looking forward to our next visit to Idaho and spending more time with y'all. and Danny is now an honorary committee member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation in Moscow, ID.

A big tug on my heart for the youngster. As he deals with his illness I am sure he will see the Glory in what he has experienced and the Glory of what is to come. Thanks for sharing a personal moment.
