I don't get it. .45ACP +P?! Who needs a +P in a 45? And what for? Same goes for magnums in +P. I just don't get it. Someone please explain.

I'd say despite how everyone dogs on the lowly little 9mm and brags about 45 acp, the acp in itself is a turd.

The extra speed of the +P rounds makes for more reliable expansion of JHP bullets.

Because it sells. People buy it. There's no other reason manufacturers make it.
There are 354564 reasons why a hand loader would choose a +P. There is only one reason the manufacturer does.

I carry +P rounds when hunting. Buffalo Bore 255 gr hard cast. I actually hunt with a rifle but you never know when you need your sidearm.
I want every bit of energy I can get for pigs and I dont want to buy a 10MM and do handloads.
That is why I buy them.
