Traded a Browning Citori for a Ruger #1 .257 Roberts with a fellow board member (Gamehunter 77). He sent me a note that he is pleased with the trade. SO AM I!! Took the Ruger to a range today; after fooling around to get it on paper (new scope) shot the target shown. Last three shots are in the 10 ring, 2 in the same hole. Keeper!!

Looks awesome I have been looking for one my self. Found a 300 wm yesterday for a decent price but that's too much gun for what I want.

Very nice! All I ever hear is that #1's aren't accurate.

I had 257 #1 in the 90's I wish I had back. Harold Brought on rechambered it to an AI. It would shoot in the 3s on a 5 shot group with 100gr Portions. I think Elbert is still shooting it.

Looks good. Shoot some 5 round groups to be sure. Had and have a bunch of them and the most common problem is vertical "stringing".

I don't think this one will "string". It's a heavy barrel !-B and I let the barrel cool between shots. I do not plan on shooting more than once on any whitetail.

Ruger #1 is on my list of must haves. I just need to figure out what caliber. 257R is a great cartridge. I have a Kimber chambered in one.
