If you shorten a 338LM a little. Or shorten a 378 weathreby. You can get to 3000 fps then some

7 mag solely on resale, edit, I see you borrowed Jason's gun. No dice. 7-300 it is! Should be a hammer!

I know you said no to the 28 nosler, but I think it's the flavor of the week and the newest and shiniest. I think the market would favor that over the 7-300.
