If you want to maximize the gun 7mm/300
If you want to be friendlier to reloaders who can't/won't modify brass 7mm mag This. Personally it would be the 7mm/300, 7Mmmm Allen mag or a rum.

I would develop loads in this order.
7 Rem Mag.
2850-2900 is still fast. And with that kind of bullet weight, and that BC, it will still be a sledge hammer. Plenty of people have brass and dies for the 7 Rem Mag right now. And I know where there is a nice 7 Rem Mag for you to test with. Ahemm!!!
28 Nosler
Great case geometry, the new flavor, and may just surprise you with some meat on the barrel compared to tgw 26 Nosler you worked on. I revert back to case geometry, pick a bullet, decide about how fast you want it to go, then decide on a case to push it while considering case geometry and growth to, hopefully achieve a low ES. If it makes the speed you want, great! If it didn't get as fast as you want, but it consistent with a low ES, then who cares about MV if it is consistent. And really as a hunting rifle, it only needs to hold up for three shots before it starts stringing. You know better than I do that the longer the barrel the smaller the sweet spot in the load. And the longer the barrel the more velocity. But to get the barrel to holp up well for three shots you have to make it thicker. Want to make it lighter? Flute it and lose a pound.
7-300
That's a top fuel dragster. Some may be extremely concerned with MV, since that is how the establishment markets. That would be the small niche you are targeting. What good is it to push a high BC, heavy bullet at super high speed if it is not consistent? Plus the throat erosion will be so bad that the very experienced shooter will need to be who buys it so he doesn't smoke the barrel learning intricacies of the cartridge/ load. That is a small group of folks. If they are buying it to kill elk at 500 yards, then the stepped right over the .280 and the 7 Rem Mag that has been around for a very long time with plenty of ammo and data to support them already.

I think either way your looking at reloader when selling to an extent. Neither one is bad imo. One has factory brass available and the ability to push it plenty fast like Jason said. The 7mm-300 is a simple run through the sizer and be done with probably better options for brass availability and can run faster.

7mm mag
this is a test run for bullet that I think is awesome for this gun... It will have more people there to buy it and try out...
yeah you gotta get a different twist but that is what it is... still bet its easier to find than a 7mm-300...
Sombody smells like fried borritos...

7 Mag.
LOTS of 'em out there. Get data established for the most popular one then do the others after.

As many have said, go with 7mm Rem Mag as it will have a far larger market plus you indicated you wanted to work up 7mm Mag loads to sell.
I can imagine JG is drooling over this new bullet!
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Someone already said it, but both markets will be small due to the twist required. Most off the shelf 7mm mag won't be able to properly stabilize it but some will try.

I've decided to go with the 7/300WM. Jason already said I can use his 7 Rem Mag for load work up, and his is a 1:8'5 twist barrel. So, it should do for that purpose. It will also go in a McMillan game scout stock. This should be a good one!

I have done really good with a 280 AI. Not quite as fast as my 7mm mag AI. But easy to keep it tuned.

Survey says....
The 195 gr does not out perform the 180 gr when loading it in a 7 Rem Mag.
The 195 doesn't achieve enough muzzle velocity to out perform the 180 gr. Chad can decide to disclose numbers. He tested the 195's in my 7 Rem Mag today. This evening I compared the MV he made with the 195's, and Retumbo, against the 180's I load with Retumbo. Wind drift is equal, the 180's drop less and deliver more energy at every distance to 1000 yards.
28 Nosler may be ok, but I bet 7-300 is going to be Thor's hammer.

Like the idea of the 7mm/300 for this bullet but from a business standpoint which will you sell more of 7mm/300 or 7mm Rem Mag?
Pretty much any rifle that will work best with that bullet at this time will have a non factory barrel on it unless I am mistaken most 7mm factory barrels in 7mm are 1:9 or 1:9.25 Agree. If you are looking to build, develop, and then use the load to sell in order to make more $$$ then the one you need to build is the standard 7mag Oops...a little late to the party...good luck!

I got pressure signs at 2850 fps with the 195 out of Jason's rifle. I had some gas leak around the primer pocket. The hybrid bullet shoots best with a slight jump. The 180 VLD's Jason is running are seated on the lands, which gets the bullet further out of the case. So, I seated the hybrid .020" off, which puts the bullet deeper into the case. I may try it again with the bullets seated at the lands to gain more room in the case to reduce pressures some, but I'm wondering how they will shoot. I will say, that's a lot of a$$ in that 7 Mag case!

I am coming late to the party but want to throw the longer throated 28 nosler in this one Derrick, that would be a good one. I'm not a 26/28 Nosler fan yet. I've built 4 Tikka T3 rifles in 26 Nosler that shoot REALLY well and fast with the 140 AB. But the VLD's I'm having trouble getting to shoot in them. With 90+ grains of powder, the rifles heat up WAY too fast to get much range time with them. But for sheer speed and shooting a high BC bullet fast, they do that job well.

You can't get over 3K with a 180 VLD in a 7 mag, so faster than a 180 with a 195 isn't happening.
