I bought a rifle from an online auction Saturday and thought somebody on here might know who the maker is/was or maybe some history on it. It is a custom 220 Swift built on a Sako L579 action, the barrel is stamped Bill Blackmon and Tanyard Spring. Its a really nice looking gun and I was happy to get it.

That is a beauty and I've always been a .220 Swift fan. All I could find was an apparently defunct gun shop in Honey Grove, Texas, by the name of Tanyard Springs, and an also apparently defunct game ranch. You might try contacting Arnold Goby at arnold@koyote.com , it looks like he used to work for Tanyard Springs gun shop. He may/may not have some information. I have no idea if the e-mail address still works. None of the phone numbers do.

Wow. Now that's pretty. I wouldn't be able to hunt with it. I'm not allowed to have nice wood things!! Lol
