Curious what ammo y'all would recommend for deer hunting with a .223 I was thinking...Black Hills Ammunition 223 Remington 62 Grain Barnes Triple-Shock X Bullet. Any other thoughts? I know some will say another caliber, but lets stick to .223 ammo recommendations if we can lol

Federal loaded with Nosler Partition. If you reload Swift makes the Sirocco in 62 and 75gr weights and is a very good bullet also. The old 64gr Winchester Power Points work pretty good also.

Just don't ignore your rate of twist. The 60-grain Partitions ought to work with a 1-12 rifle. A 77-grain, for example, may not.

My son will be using a stiff load with a 65 grain Sierra BTSP. It should be a good hunting bullet. The Partition is a good bullet, but I'm not paying $.50 just for the bullet for a 223 round.

I'm no expert but I would be concerned the Barnes would just drill a small hole with limited expansion. I have used them in 7mm Mag and switching to Accubond for that same reason. I have not checked yet, but would be interested in seeing the 223 Barnes performance in gelatin.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

All depends on what you want.
I want a bullet that will cause enough damage for a humane kill and will exit for better blood trail if(read when) they run. I have never recovered a 60 grain nosler partition from a deer and all left ample blood trails.
The majority of 223 cal bullets will not exit.
Ive deer hunted with 55 grain v-max, 55 grain rem psp, 60 grain NP's. The partition is my recommendation.

This has been my experience also, watch very closely where they run off to, because there will be no blood trail. The exception to this is head or neck shooting does, they tend to drop like rocks when shot in the head, so no blood trail needed.

Speer makes a 64gr. Gold Dot Soft Point. It is an excellent blind barrier round so bone should be no issue. It's rather hard to find but it's good stuff! Super accurate as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6JXu2JGmW4
