Montana rifle company is by far one of the best rifles for your buck. Also id highly recommend melvin forbes production grade, especially if looking for light weight option.
Ive owned a montana rifle co with gentry brake in 300wby and it was a 1/2 moa gun all day. Sold it to a client because he offered me $500 over what it cost me.

Go find a October 2015 issue of Field & Stream, and turn to page 26 for a couple page review from Dave Petzal of 7 current upper end $ factory rifles under $2000.
Petzal article compares a Begara Premier Series BPR-16 Stalker, a Legendary Arms Professional (off an Ed Brown receiver design), the Montana Rifle Co's new Xtreme X2 as the best of the 7 guns compared, followed by a Forbes Rifle Model 24, Kimber Model 84M Classic, SAKO 85 Classic and a Weatherby Accumark. FWIW the original MRC sythetic stocks used were all B&C Medallions, and the new Xtereme X2 stock is an original design fo MRC and offered in the ASR aka American Standard Rifle series of producurtion rifles. MRC also still offers several lines of full custom rifles from $2k to $5k+. The guns are built in Kalispell MT as I remember.
Petzal's MRC ASR X2 writeup gives a short history and explanation how the MRC's 1999 features are upgraded when compared to the original Winchester Pre '64 design the MRC 1999 is based on. CZ also used the MRC 1999 receiver design for their short lived Model 3 line of WSM calibers wearing a Serenghetti stock from MRC's very early days of producution, and still highly sought today at 2-3 mulitiples of the original List Price from what I see on GB. Hope this helps. Ron

Jeez my typing sucks...gotta get some sleep instead of getting up with 3-4 hours sleep with the empty hole in my head spinning with Issue Resolution Quandry's... going into this move...
Talking about WTail Shooters I'd like to have, or shoulda bought when I saw the deal is about all that keeps me from drooling and blowing spit bubbles... Oh well I asked for this dinnit I? I used to be able to move house's, wife and kids on 24 hours notice..this is got to be the Last Time. Ron

They are starting to build this in 28 Nosler, and it's getting my attention. May have to order one next year. Heck of a gun for the money.

Buzz, The photo is a 260, the target in the other post is from a 308, although the 260 will do the same. Below is a link to review I posted on another board and long discussion. That forum is mostly unmoderated. It can get unruly on occasion, just ignore it, there are some knowledgeable and decent posters just like here. The discussion was good. I've been impressed with it, as well as the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42. http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/9610237/1

I have been eyeballing them too. They look to be alot of rifle for $1200. I am interested in hearing some first hand reviews as well.
