So if all goes well I will be at the range sunday morning developing my load.

only recipe i can find is from hodgdon/imr and is min 71 max 76.4

if go by .3s thats a lot of rounds frown. Since i only a 100-200 yard range, can't do ladder test.

Book max velocity is 2963. I have an extra inch of barrel and would love to be at 3k

I've loaded your exact combo (but with 7977). The 76.4 is a conservative charge. You can easily get another grain or 1.5 before you hit max. Seat the LR AB about .050" off the lands, and you'll be good. They will not shoot well touching the lands. If you are using Norma/Nosler brass, reduce that by about .5 grain.

I am using 7977. Sorry for the typo. Winchester brass with cci large mag primers.

Good to know I got more room. I may jump in .7 jumps to get up to higher loads faster

I'd recommend the Fed 215 primers. CCI #250 are a little light, but they will work. The CCI #250 mag primers are rated between a standard and magnum primer. Yes, they are labeled as magnum, but on the scale of all magnum primers, they fall right in the middle. Your 2 hottest primers are the Fed 215 and Rem LR magnum primers, which are best for slow powders.

Cleric, not sure where you live but I can spare a sleeve of Fed Large Mag Rifle Match primers if you want to try them. Not sure how they compare to the regular 215s. PM me if interested.

Just got back from the range....

75 grains avg 2759 Es 15
76 grains avg 2754 Es 76. Good group 1in edge to edge
76.3 grains avg 2852 Es 44. One flier, edge to edge .86
76.7 grains avg 2879 Es 28. Decent vertical, bad horizontal
77 grains avg 3068 Es 99. Bad group
77.3 grains avg 2928 Es 14 1.2 edge to edge
77.6 grains avg 2949 Es 22
77.9 grains avg 2879 Es 28 3 shot group edge to edge .7 two fliers touching pulled left

I think my barrel heat up through test drove some bad groups. I was surprised the 77 load was highest velocity.

Right now it's either 76 or try 77.9 and see if I can get that tighter with a cooler barrel

Got it where I like it now...

77.9 grains. Had a 3 shot group .65 edge to edge.

Just need to play with trueing to get my velocity right.

Thanks chad for your help
