I believe this is the same deer and i am thinking 3 maybe 4 but prob not. What do you guys think.

Hard to tell, but to me the deer in the top pic looks older. Like 5 and the deer looking at the camera in the bottom pic I would say 3-4

It is the same deer in both pics.

I would age him at 4-5.

Deer looks like a really leggy fat 3 yr old Live Oak County buck to me from those pics.

its really weird on this ranch this will be our second hunting season and i have yet to see a buck on cam or in person over 5 years old. I am loaded up with 3 and 4 year olds. Any explanation to that? i have 11 cameras on 420 acres so its not like i am not trying to find the older deer.

I don't know how the drought has affected your area, but in my area we have an age gap due to not many fawn surviving starting in 2011.

Drought caused gaps in age classes for many years.

In 2011 we had a MASSIVE fire that burned thousands and thousands of acres to our west and even burnt a small section of our place. This year 4 year olds are extremely hard to find on our place due to a terrible fawn crop that year and along with the fact that several of our really promising 3 year olds got popped last year.

So far this year I have a grand total of 3 deer on camera that I feel are 4+ years old.

Based on the first pic I would have put him at 4 or maybe even 5. Based on the last pic I would say 3 is a pretty solid bet. That's why I always like more than one pic.
