Been quail hunting for 10 years but have never had this problem.
The darn broom weed is so thick and 3-4 ft tall. You can't even see your feet when in it. How in the world are we going to get our dog to work in this? I might have to put one of those bike flags on the tail just to see them. LOL

GPS and a spotter up on the top seats of the Mule. That and we don't start till December so hopefully it will be dead and dried out some. I hate when the broomweed is all green and still has blooms.

I've had that problem on some wet years. I usually hunt from a vehicle. We've had to pick up and move to more open country. Dogs can't jump over it or run under it. You just have to pick your spots.

Reading the RPQRR report this morning that broom weed is a good sign, with some other weeds.

There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Broom weed is good, but I usually don't find quail in the thick tall stuff. Quail like to be able to see above them. I think?

My dogs just plow threw it no problems. I have a collar with a locator just in case they go on point.
