Been wondering what I'd need to do to make sure I don't screw up anything for the taxidermist. Just gut it? Try to fully cape it out? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Shot said animal. Do not gut it. Freeze whole. Let your taxi skin as he desires to whatever form you pick.
It wouldn't hurt to double trash bag it. Just to prevent freezer burn IF the animal gets left in the freezer for longer than expected.

Check what it costs to mount one first. You might change your mind.
