I am looking at buying one or the other. There are a thousand ways to build them, however having the option and the resources which would you rather purchase?

I have both...Nighthawk T3 (slim version) and a Wilson CQB. Both in .45ACP & 4.25" barrels. They are fantastic guns!

I went to buy a nighthawk and got to playing with a few of the different models and ended up leaving with a dan Wesson specialist. I would not rule them out vs the nighthawk or Wilson's. The fit and finish and the way the gun handled were right there with the other two to me.

I've owned Ed Brown, WC and NHC.

Moved onto SVI Infinity. 100% custom. 100% made in house in Texas. Custom your own serial numbers too which is sweet!

But the only factory 1911 I still own is a WC though. It was the finish, Turnbull, that made me keep it.

I have not tried Nighthawks, so will not comment on them.

I had two Wilsons. Once I tried a Les Baer, the Wilsons were traded the next week for Baers.

The Baers have proven extremely reliable and accurate, and have a better balance and feel in hand than did the Wilsons.

Also, one of the two Wilsons was never reliable despite two trips back.

The Baers have been good to go from the start, even though he recommends 500 rounds for the pistols to break in due to the extremely hard fit.

Been very happy with the Baers for several years and many rounds later.

Between the 2

A Wilson is a better value if cost is a factor in your decision

They re both hand fitted so you can't go wrong

Thank you everyone. Great feedback. When it come to more "economical" 1911's what is your take on Rock Island and Remington?

I had 2 RIA's but they were both in 9mm and were very picky on ammo. I don't have any experience with the RIA's in 45. But for the price and life time warranty I don't think it would hurt to try one out. I'm thinking of getting one of the RIA full rail 2011's to try out.

Haven't been around the nighthawk but the Wilson I had I loved. Wouldn't have sold it if I didn't need the cash as the time. I wouldn't be against trying a bear or other and I do know where a nice les bear is for sale right now

So... we start a thread on a $3000 pistol, and then ask about $400 pistols??

RIA is fine. You may need to round some edges, but they're good guns.
