I don't see any non-typical points added. Likely will go over 170.

From the pics, he carried more mass than I was giving him credit for.

Tine length, many of them, and main beam length is what makes this deer. Along with the extras that weren't added on the score sheet when the picture was taken.

I don't see any non-typical points added. Likely will go over 170. Look at the score sheet again. He added the NT in the G4, G5 and G6 columns on each side. Tine length, many of them, and main beam length is what makes this deer. Along with the extras that weren't added on the score sheet when the picture was taken. 40-30-20-10 rule is what I have heard it called in the past. 40% of the end score is tine length, 30% will be beam length, 20% will be mass and 10% will be spread.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

You are right, I did not notice. I have filled out hundreds of those forms and never seen it done like that. Yep, 40-30-20-10 rule is for most deer. Every once in a whil there will be an exception.

I got him with a crossbow. It was the first deer I've ever harvested with a crossbow. They did add the non-typical points. They just labeled them in the G-4,5,6 slots. Thank you for all the congratulations! That's probably the deer of a lifetime for me. It was on a low fence, 350 acre lease. I mean you just cant beat that!

Very cool looking deer. Those short beams hurt him. Upper 130s might see 140? Huh? We looking at the same deer?

Pretty sure this is the same deer last year. Article says he came to the same yard everyday and the owners fed him and several other deer they were not hunters and the photographer had to agree to not disclose the location of the house to be allowed to take pictures. Looks like someone figured out the location!!!!

He was scored at the Venado Grande Deer Contest in Belton at 164 2/8. If you average that with the Goldthwaite score, he comes to 163.
