Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a lot better about the time I left the key to my bolt lock at home. Before I got a safe I had locks on all my firearms. Drove two hours to go dove hunting once and didn't bring the key for the lock on my shotgun.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a lot better about the time I left the key to my bolt lock at home. Before I got a safe I had locks on all my firearms. Drove two hours to go dove hunting once and didn't bring the key for the lock on my shotgun. I bet that burned. There is a free public range about an hour and 20 minutes from my house, that allows reactive targets. It is run by the state (North Carolina) and paid for by an ammo tax. It's real nice and worth it. No glass targets, and you can't put targets directly on the ground- other than that you shoot what you want and pick up your mess before you leave. First time I drove out there not only did i get lost using google maps, but I left my bolt lock at home. It dawned on me as soon as I pulled in to the range. Why didn't i think of it before I left the house? Couldn't tell you.

I was at walmart several years ago and over heard a guy that was wanting to buy a rifle and trying to decide between 308 & 30-06. The salesman suggested the 30-06 because 308 could be shot out of the 30-06 too.
