I got my girlfriend a Quest Radical last year for her to begin shooting with.
Right now the bow is set up how she likes it at 26” draw length and right around 44-45lbs.

My only problem is that I cannot find a sight that is adjustable enough to move pins between 15-30 yards and still have accuracy. It just will not get accurate. She can shoot pretty tight groups but they are never accurate. I adjust it and adjust it and it doesn’t help. I believe most of the problem is the sight. It has a crappy cheap tru-glow sight.

Long story short… does anyone have a recommendation on a low weight bow sight that has a lot of adjustment ability? What are some of the other sights that the women or children are using in this lower poundage bows?

I don’t think she has any intentions of taking a shot any further than 25-30 yards if that makes a difference.

She is shooting the Carbon Express Hot Pursuit 90.

The sight that comes on the Radical package should get her to 30 yards without a problem.

So she can shoot good groups but just not where the sights show, are the groups left or right or are they just low?

I suspect the centershot being off, noc/dloop being wrong height. Had one a couple weeks ago that had enough cam lean it was pulling shots off and another that was turned out 3 turns more on one limb than the other. Could be any or all those causing the issue as well as the arrows if the spine is not right for her setup.

Its really weird.

@ 15 yards she is just a tad bit high but centered well.

@ 20 yards she is shooting right and low

@ 25 same as 20...

I don't understand it. I've tried to mess with it and get more and more frustrated every time I start tuning. She gets frustrated with me cause I ask her to keep shooting and I keep jacking with her bow. So frustrating. I wish she could just pull 60lbs and I could pop a TR React Sight on there like I have on my bow lol

When you look down an arrow that is nocked and in the rest, does it pass right below the sight?

Is the arrow more to the right at 25 than it is at 20?

If she shoots it at 7 or 10 yards is the arrow left?

What is the actual arrow length, hitting right can be an under spined arrow, if she is shooting right handed.

Not if the arrows aren't properly spined, the center shot is not properly adjusted, one limb is adjust improperly (not balanced) etc. Can you shoot groups with it? If you can shoot consistent groups (doesn't really matter where they hit) then it could also be her form. Poor follow through, moving anchor point etc. There are a lot of variables but if the bow is well tuned you should be able to get it to consistently group to some degree and you will have eliminated some of the variables. Well, you probably answered your question when you used the word crappy.

It's a set up issue; you need someone to tune it and set it up that knows what they are doing.

This, that bow is easy to tune for someone that knows bows.

As kmon1 said its in the setup, not the sight!

Assuming everything is tight and not moving her grouping well eliminates issues with release and form. So as kmon suggested I too think it has to do with the centershot setup. There are a few methods one can use to tune: paper tune, bare shaft, and walk back. The easiest for me was the walk back. I can't link to the specific post due to the rules but google Texas Bowhunter walk back tuning and look for a post by a guy that goes by the handle of Rat. He describes this method by sighting in at 20 then using the same pin to "walk back" in increments shooting a series of arrows. If the hit points are diagonal to the right then move the rest to the left in small increments and vice versa until all of the shots are centered about a vertical line. You can use a plumb-bob string line or a piece of masking tape. Given that she is shooting 45ish pounds scale it down and start out at 10 then walk back in 5 yard increments using the 10 yard pin.

Once you eliminate center shot then start looking at release. I have been shooting through the summer and was grouping good but due to birthdays, family stuff, and honey-do's I laid off practice for 5 weeks and developed a punch the release habit that caused me to shoot to the right. And it was consistently to the right. I'm too crowded in my back yard to shoot every day so to correct this I have been practicing with a plain string with the caliper release using back tension.

Eliminate the variables one at a time and she will get there. Good luck.
