This is not such a bad thing but makes me wonder if this is happening on other properties. I have been on the same lease since 2001 and was common to see 6 to 9 doe per hunt. The bucks that we saw were young bucks such as 3, 4, 6 points or small 8s and a nice buck would be harvested from time to time. Over the years and especially after the drought our doe numbers have dwindled down to just a handful it seems, but our buck heard has improved in numbers and quality. So our hunting sits tend to be boring from not seeing as many deer but I have harvested my largest bucks since the drought took place. This is a positive shift however I like to see the deer eat, play and do what they do just to pass time sitting in the stand. Are your leases going thru the same changes. And BTW I hunt 450 acres LF.

Not unusual on my place to see way more bucks than does right now and it is the same as the last few years. I do not have any mast crop (acorns, persimmons or mesquite beans) this year again. Right now in most areas bucks are packing in the groceries to get ready for the rut, so they are hitting corn and a little protein. I have had a great rain year so the doe have had plenty to eat from the natural habitat. I have fed about 66% less protein feed to date this year than last year. My young buck quality and numbers at the highest since the drought also. I am the only one in a very large area taking any does off also so I know my ratio is better. That is allowing more native forage for the remaining deer. I think rainfall and mast crops can effect what you are seeing. Also a lot will depend on how many doe live on your lease and when your neighbors started their feeders.

We are in Concho County and have a good number of does. My guess is that not enough are harvested a year. About 20 a year over 6000 acres. Our place in Kansas has a good ratio as does the lease in Oklahoma.

Lots more bucks than doe on our place. Exciting, for sure. Probably 2 bucks for each doe.

Still seeing does, but acorns are getting heavy on the ground, so they are staying in the oaks more, at least here.
