I've decided to convert one of my AR-15's to 6.8 spc. Not having any experience with this caliber I'm asking for input on barrel and bolt assy's. First of all I am not a "brand" seeker, just what works and worth the money. I appricate any and all info. Thank you.

Bison Armory gets my vote. Have built 2 with their barrels and BCG's.

I second the AR Performance barrel. Below is a pic of a 5 shot group I shot with factory Hornady 110 Vmax. The barrel is an 18" ARP medium conture. Disregard my measurements as I incorrectly wrote down .243 and should have been .988 - .277 = .711 ARP Barrel link below. ARP BarrelsVery good information on below forum. I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

ARP or Bison is what I came up with after shopping for awhile. I have a 16" ARP socom barrel and a box of parts. I just need a bolt and gas block and time to finish it up. ARP comes well reviewed and the price is quite fair.

you will not be disappointed
check the 6.8 forum, lots of info there

Another thought on ARP that when you buy a barrel and bolt together, they will make sure it is head spaced properly. I really don't know what all is involved in this on an AR platform or how it affects accuracy but could be a good opportunity.

Try White Oak Armament too. They're well known for accuracy.

I looked at White Oak, I have a 18" SS in my favorite AR 15. I really like their barrels but I'm thinking ARP 16" Scout for length and weight. I was thinking about one of their superbolts in the carrier for my 556.

I have arp 12.5" sbr and it shoots great and very consistent in the accuracy department. I used a stag bolt. I ordered mine from dsg arms, as arp was out of stock, but they where the same price. Im so glad i went with arp, priced right and very accurate.
