I am planning on building a few higher end ARs and looking for suggestions on which Lower and Upper Receivers are recommended. I do not want billet for these builds. Suggestions? Sources? Thanks in advance.

Pretty much all lowers and uppers are the same just different markings. Pick one out that looks good to you.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

doesn't really matter as long as its a name that does a number of them.
I am a fan of spikes but others are fine.
Why would you not want billet for higher end ARs?

Hi Big Im partial to Mega Arms. I use them in the ar15 style and mostly in the ar 308. I get the matched upper/lower sets for all my hi end builds...you damn sure dont want any slop on a nice build...billet is my choice Wash

mega makes good stuff...
If you want a higher end set, some have a tension screw in the back that you can us to tighten the fit between the lowers

Thanks all. It appears Spikes is the popular brand with top ratings for the forged receivers. I don't want billet for these builds just to avoid higher costs for little to nothing gained (as I understand it). Thanks for the input and keep them coming.

Thanks Cleric and Wash. I spoke with a builder yesterday and he highly recommended Mega Arms for accuracy builds and said their machining and accuracy to .001 on critical dimensions are top notch. I like the tension screw design in their lowers as well.
He also mentioned Spikes was a good choice as they are very consistent. An interesting point he made is that there is a difference in lowers even though they are Mil-spec as he sees more variability on machining dimensions and coating (i.e. Anderson lowers are Mil-spec but sees more variability in critical dimensions). It seems there are only a few sources for the forged lowers/uppers and the difference between manufacturers is their machining precision and coating process consistency.
Very good learning experience for me and thought I'd throw it out there for others' consideration.
