Wanted to do a full body mount but blew half his head off, my taxidermist mentioned doing it like this but I thought she meant stretch it on an old cedar fence picket but it turned out much nicer.

That looks nice. How do you get it to lay so flat when drying? What was used to attach it to the board? Is there some type of epoxy over it?

so how long was this Snake?
And what did you do to preserve the skin before taking to the taxidermist ?
we had a 4 foot one we skinned and tried to salt and pin the skin but it didn't work out very well.

You can use a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and glycerine to tan the skin. Heres how I did mine.

It was between 5'-5 1/2' but very fat, stuff like that i dont skin my taxidermist rather me just freeze it and bring to her because she knows how to skin them best she does all our alligators as well.
