My yellow lab has open sores between his toes. Started on back right paw and has now spread to all four. Vet prescribed antibiotics and didn't help. Tried soaking in epsom salt.. antifungal treatment, neosporin, etc.. nothing works or even helps! Anyone ever had this problem??? He's gonna have a tough year trying to keep him out of the field!

Sounds like he picked up something, maybe in water. I would get on this pretty quick. If you have boots for him, put some gauze pads between his toes to keep them dry and boots over that to keep him off it. If it's a fungus it'll fade. A little Desenex will help if it is fungal. Good luck.

My dog had something similar and was given either anti inflammatory or some type of steroids. Helped real quick

he was on steroids and it helped for a little bit but came back even worse. vet doesnt seem to have any idea what it is, and evidently it's pretty common. gonna try some boots, he's definitely not a fan but they might help.

Here's some reading on the subject. It's not uncommon in labs and it can be a real bugger to clear up. You have to be very diligent in your treatments. I have a friend that had to put their dog down they got so bad. If it were me I'd see a specialist. It's not worth fooling around with.

This worked wonders on my labs foot a few weeks ago. Only took a few days. Picked it up at the feed store.

He had the same problem as your dog and it was getting nasty. I thought he might lick his paw to the bone. I sprayed it every morning and at night until it healed up. It looked better after a couple of days and was healed in 10.

Is that the yellow stuff?

I'm gonna pick some of that stuff up today.. he was miserable this weekend but he was devastated when I left him at home for the last hunt!

Bought a can of this stuff.. after two weeks I'm about out, but I am definitely seeing some improvement! His sores are getting smaller and he's starting to put weight on the front of his paws again and walk normally.. not there yet but the biggest improvement I've seen!
