First year hunting in northern Erath County. Does anyone know a good processor around Thurber-Mingus or Weatherford?

I have used Hamilton Meats in Weatherford for many years and I've been very satisfied with them.

Try this guy in the link below, cleanest place I have seen and out of the park finished meats if you want that, makes super jerky. I will be using Dan from now on. Dan's Smokehouse. http://blog.internetjerky.com/deer-processing-texas-dans-smokehouse/

I'm partial to Kenny Freds in Bluff dale, but those pics of Dan jerky made it look delicious.

Probably some of the best jerky I have ever had, and at one time we made Ostrich jerky Probably not worth the drive for you to have a deer done, but he will sure send you some product LOL. I am super glad I found out about them, my biggest "beef" with processors is, cleanliness and honesty, they are both. Very nice family as well

I think I may have to try him this year. I'm definitely getting some of his beef jerky.

I would think both Dans and Hamilton meats will do a great job.

I've used Hamiltons for my show pigs after the county fair when I was in high school and I've used them for deer and I've never been disappointed

TD's processing in Strawn or JT'S in stephenville. JT'S vacume seals everything. I would use and recommend both. I like JT'S better because vacume seals everything and the owner(Jesse Vann )does almost all of the processing himself. Both are very clean. They both started out in supermarkets and learned good sanitary practices.

I think I may have to try him this year. I'm definitely getting some of his beef jerky. Update: I decided to try Dan's and picked up my meat today (along with some jerky). The jerky and summer sausage are great, and Dan and his family are super nice people. Dan even insisted on carrying the box of meat to my car. I think I've found a new processor.

At Hamilton's I don't think you get your deer back. I think they go by weight and then process all the deer. I take care of my deer before it gets to the processor. I've seen some in their cooler that were definitely NOT taken care of. I love the jerky and summer sausage from Hamilton's, but I prefer to get the meat from the deer I shot.
