well here is my situation. Feeder is about 30-maybe 40 yards at best from fence...stand is about 75 yards from feeder angled off to the left. Facing our fence..i wrote the land owner a nice note asking his nephew, (whos stand and feeder it is) to please move it just even a little further down away from the fence and or move the stand...that was back in June. Guess what ..its still in the same spot..so I need to figure something out...put a stand close, park four wheeler there or something.....

I'd put a stand 2 foot off the fence and hunt the heck out of it.,

Well, I'd be done with the letters and an other communication and put a blind right there. I'd let them spend some time trying to contact me, then let them wait it out. That would be my new hunting spot...

Nowadays they might be just too dang lazy to move it so it'll sit there and rot.

I've got the same problem, "but different." I just bought a place and on the fence line is a stand within a foot of the fence and his feeder is at about a 15 degree angle away. He has two stands on the fence line both with the same set up, however, my best guess is that he only has about 20-25 acres of land. I'm not sure if I should approach him or not about his stand placement. No question that he is set up the way he is to pull deer off of my property. I want to be a good neighbor, I'm just not sure how to go about it in this situation.

Who owns the fence?

No doubt some deer will go to his property but what about the ones coming back onto yours?

All of his land has been cleared off and is in coastal. My land is all thick oak trees. I think that is why his stands are so close to the fence. He has no deer on his place. I think I have just answered my own question. There is really no place for him to move his stands. He could move his feeders, but if you shot from one of his stands to his feeders, his bullet would not pass over the fence. I guess I will just leave it alone and see what happens this year. As far as who owns the fence, my guess is that I do. My property has a brand new fence all the way around it, where his has a fallen down fence everywhere except where the fence separates my property from his.

This is not about whose deer is whose from my perspective.

It's being courteous enough to not let you actions/hunting affect your neighbors.

When you put a stand or blind right next to the fence line, it's impossible not to affect your neighbors hunting experience.

If you set up away from the fence at least one hundred yards or more, if you like to start hunting @ 9:00, smoke, chew, go take a dump etc.... it should only affect your hunting, not theirs as well.

Hey, if you aren't hunting the fence line, then it won't affect you! roflmao

As I have posted in the past, my property is surrounded by 30 acre "ranches", and what few resident deer are left bed on my place, so I have the same issue. Bottom line, nothing you can do about it except get the law involved if you find evidence of trespassing/poaching. After I popped one of my so called neighbors for killing a deer on my place, the Game Warden himself told him he needed to face his blind away from the fence, not towards it. That was several years ago, and that feeder is still 15 yards from the fence with blind facing directly towards it. Even a pass thru shot at the feeder would result in the projectile crossing the property line. I just try not to let it bother me, but it does, a LOT. LOL.

Thank you...thank you very much

I was in the same boat. I just bought a ranch that is surrounded by 30 to 50 acre places. Every 100 yards or so there is a blind and feeder on the fence line. I grew up that you never put a blind on a fence line. I fenced them out put up a high fence 10' inside my property line and left all the brush to grow up between my new high fence and the existing low fence. If they cut the brush down they will be trespassing. I would not have put up the fence if I didn't feel like they were in the wrong.

You don't have sit on the fence line to be affected by people who do.

If you can't figure that out I'm not wasting my time explaining it to you.

Guess I am in the minority, have no problem with it as long as it is facing interior to their land. So many factors involved as to why it would be there and every situation is different. Too many to go into here, but it is his land/lease and has the right. May not agree with it, but it is what it is. As many have mentioned, just have an adult conversation on how you could both benefit with some adjustments.

I don't think you are the minority, I agree with you as well. The ones that scream the most tend to be the miniority.

Sad the neighbors forced you to turn your place into a deer pen.

Bought 485 acres. Thick south Texas brush fencing it doesn't bother me. Hell I am there three days a week and have only seen some stag I put there on camera so I would hardly call it a pen.
