We had one of our good friends/clients up from Houston for the second time yesterday. Amy and her husband Ray visited us earlier this year and took a mammoth sized buffalo bull. This trip would be a little different, we would be chasing one of the many great stags on one of our properties. We set off at first light and within minutes in the field were on a group a several big stags. As luck would have it they ended up filtering off before we could get a shot off.

The day passed on with us spotting and having numerous stalks just barely becoming successful. After taking a short late lunch we decided to hit the field again as the rut is in full swing. Stags were roaring and chasing hindes all over the ranch. Finally after a solid 9 hours of endless walks, stalks, and close calls we spotted a great stag coming out of a water hole. He offered a quartering to shot and Amy made it count with her 300 WSM. We all knew this stag was special, but upon walking up to him reality set in on just how great he was. The giant stag taped out right at 400", and tilted the scales at 500lbs.

Congrats to Amy once again at a once in a lifetime stag!

If you're interested in a stag hunt please contact myself or BBD84 for more info. The prices we have are some of the best prices I've seen for the quality of stag offered.

Very nice. Looks more like what you expect out of New Zealand then Texas! What is the name of the outfitter or do you have a link to a website?

beautiful stag. it is amazing what they can become if you let them get some age on them.

this guy clearly has great genetics combined with maturity... a true monster...

Yep, beast! Nice job to the huntress on playing the angle correctly on the quartering-to shot as well, those are not always easy.
