Purchased Browning X-Bolt .270 rifle yesterday. I hunt white tail in a stand 100 yards from the feeder and don't plan on moving it or hunting anywhere else. Any ammo suggestions? I'd like to buy 3-4 different types and see which my gun likes the best. From there I'll stick with that ammo.

Before I started reloading, I was always happy with Remington CoreLokt 130 gr ammo.

I've always liked Winchester silver tips. At that distance the "ballistic tipped" bullets never seemed to open as much

I have been very pleased with the Hornandy SuperPerformance line, myself. Also use the Corelokt and have used the Winchester Silvers too...all three have given me under 1" MOA

At 100 yds, corelokt really is tough to beat. I've always had good luck with soft points.

The 270 Win is one of my "babies" since it was the round I cut my teeth on. I have shot more bullets and played with more powder combinations than I can count. I even took a precision rifle course out to 1000 yards with it. It is one of the calibers I know extremely well and what makes it shoot well. I developed a load that I call my "magnum" load. It fires a 130 grain Hornady SP at 3080 fps in 22" barrel. I wanted a top notch load that was fast, but still shot great in ALL 270's I tried it in. This is the load! It also shoots better the further out I shoot (300 and 500 yards). I have some made now, and if you want to try a few rounds or a small box, let me know! It will also be much more consistent than any factory ammo out there. I have it priced at a great price point also.

In my house there are 3 .270's used for deer hunting and everyone is sighted in with 130gr Remy Corelokts. Personally I won't hunt with anything else because I don't need to.

What they said. Also, 130 gr seems to be the common go to.

I have a X-Bolt White Gold Medallion in .270 Win. that I haven't started loading for yet as it shoots Rem. Core Lokt 130's MOA consistently. Love that rifle. cheers

My browning 270 loves Federal Premium 130. Would never consider anything else that's factory ammo.

My 270 loves 130 grain federal soft points. Buy some boxes and try them out. My gun did not eat corelokts very well. Others swear buy them. Don't be fooled in thinking you need a 50$ box of ammo.

I couldn't even group and zero with 2 boxes of corelokt. They were all over the place so I bought a different type and zeroed in 5 shots.

I am not sure I have ever fired a 270 loaded with anything other than Remington Corelokt 130's. No complaints from me about on game performance or at the range.

At 100 yrds and under, might try the 150's since you don't need the speed of the 130's. I prefer 130's, but I tend to have further shot opportunities.

I agree with the 130. I shoot Federal Power-Shok 130's. Served me well on both deer and hogs. Hard to beat a good .270

I use nothing but 130 grain federal blue box. Everything I've shot has died
