I use a Monarch 3 on one of my .308 hunting rifles and I recently found a new load that I wanted to zero. It required me to take the windage out to almost 3 full turns. Dead on a zeroed in, but when I screw the cap all the way back on in turns the windage back down about 6 clicks. I would think there would be more clearance than that. I don't feel like i should have to buy extended caps for what seems like a normal adjustment. At least the scope has the zero reset, but It's annoying to think that i will have to remember to remove the cap and re-zero each time i shoot....right?

The biggest failure is the one who didn't try.

What rings/bases are you using? It sounds like something is not lined up right. If you have the basic Leupold bases with the rear windage screws, work those over some for more clearance.
