A bud wants a carbine scope and I thought about pointing hin toward this, especially for that price. Heck I may try one myself if they're any good.

No experience with that scope. Ignore me if you like. I just ordered a 1-4 to try on a new ar. Great price and I couldn't pass it up. Check it out here.

I have seen that Bushnell and considered it. Let me know how it works out if you don't mind.

I sure will as soon as soon as PSA decides to ship it. SSALT mount arrived today from SWFA. Great service there.

I'd be willing to send my bud to it, and we could both try it, if I could find it in stock anywhere.

The only complaint I've heard about the falcon menace is they are heavy. And of course you realize you are publicly recommending a SFP scope. Jk

I don't know anything about the Falcon-Menace but I do have the Bushy 1-4 and Vortex Strike Eagle mentioned above. The only thing I don't like about the Bushy is very limited eye relief...hard to beat for $150 though. I like everything about the Strike Eagle. I ordered when they first were announced.

JG, they are both mounted in PEPR mounts and you are welcome to try both before your buddy decides.

Can't weigh more than my SS 5-20 or Bushy Elite 3.5-21X

I know, it's shocking for me to be recommending an SFP scope. BUT! If you're gonna use the reticle on such a low magnification scope, you're going to crank it to max power anyway. Might as well save some coin and get SFP. Wish Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 came in SFP. When it's turned down to 2.5X there is not much reticle to see.

Tim, if you ever come to my range a day I am also there I would love to test drive some of those scopes.

Just looked at the reticle more closely. 2 Mil reticle spacing. WTF? That was a dumbass move on their part. Nevermind the Falcon, I'm out on that crap.

Need .5 Mil for 200 yards, need 1.0-1.4 for 300 yards, and thats about it for a 16" carbine. Why in the world would someone need 20.0 Mils of elevation correction on a 5X scope? Maybe shooting subs very far, but that would just be playing and not hunting.

It does, you just have to live with the larger objective (2.5-10x44 instead of 32). Saves you about $200 over the 32, and it's only 1/2" larger, still narrower than most handguards.

Where that be?

Cuz SWFA does not list any 2.5-10X in SFP and Mil, only MOA. I will not buy an MOA scope, but that probably goes without saying. Maybe I should call Skylar to see if it was an oversight.

Lists the 2.5-10x44 as either MOA or MRAD, and I've seen them available elsewhere

Thank you. Now I remeber what I saw. Can't get SFP in a 32mm objective, can get it in the 44mm.

In short, I can't get exactly what I want, but I can get close.

What about a dual focal plane scope?

There are a few different takes on it but here is a link to a Burris dual scope.

That's really cool. But way out of budget.
