Guys, we have pics on this buck from last year and this year. This eight point that looks like he has reached his potential. I mean if he hasn't gotten bigger from last year with all the rain this spring it looks like he is tapped out on getting bigger. This is in Commanche county.

If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Depends on his age, if he;s middle aged it's possible for him to hold steady while he's real active in rut, then do something as he starts to lose interest.

Do you have too many deer on your property? Do you have too many bucks? If not, let the deer go and see what happens. Some of these 8 pointers will surprise you once they get very mature.
Let'em grow old

You'd need a lot more info IMO to make that decision.

Are you looking to shoot 8 pointers or something bigger and better? If bigger and better, he should have already been shot to make more room for bigger and better.
How come everybody I meet is a deer hunting expert?

We never saw him during the season to take him out. A good buck in our area is 120 inch so if he does show up i'm sure one would take a shot. Just a bummer he did not grow at all. 20142015

Getting the sway back, looks 5.5 to 6.6 to me so I'd take him.

there's a great thread on texasbowhunter about 8s. lots of great examples of what 8s can do later in life. they can get really trashy with a lot of cool kickers.
how was the rain at your place during april-june? if there wasn't enough to eat, he's not going to get a chance to show his best.
