The Germans have a term for stags like that, it's generally translated as murder stag, because of the very real possibility of goring a rival in a fight. Congratulations that one needed to be taken. cheers

I did a little research the word is literately "Moeder Buck" in reference to Roe deer( I used the oe in place of the o with umlauts). I think it was Mord Hirsh in relation to Stag. Moeder literally translates to killer in English. The instructor was still using the German term just didn't realize it. I took the class in 78 my recall isn't perfect.

cool. I took a moeder axis buck year ago . . . he had a saber for a right main beam that he'd use to get more feed by killing anything in his way. had killed a few really, really nice HC WT bucks before I got to him.
