Have you ever been to the west Kerr ranch? I hunted it once as a guest back when the one side was still a lease. Amazing property

It's right by the y.o. ranch. They bought 6 sections of the yo a good while back and now they are in direct competition with each other

West Kerr has entrance right off us83. Last time I drove by it was for sale. That was a couple years ago.

There hasn't been much rain in the last 3 months, so don't expect it to be too fantastic.

Our place is on 290 between Fredericksburg and Harper, about 4 miles from Harper. Lots of young bucks and does. Quite a few 8s and one 10 on the game cams. It is very dry right now. Acorn crop looks to be fairly heavy

Those are NOT your average Kendall county deer! I'm sure a couple thousand pounds of protein and a high fence make that big difference for your deer.

But those are some great bucks.

He asked for pictures of the deer so I was just posting some pictures to show him the deer look pretty good this year. 9-10 of those deer are native Kendall county deer but, yes they do get the protein and time to grow.

Those are some pretty awesome bucks! Are any of them on your list to harvest or are those on the average side for the ranch you're hunting? I am envious because the deer where I hunt (kendalia) don't have those type of genetics.

We cull out a lot of big 8pts every year and we kill a few bigger bucks that are mature. There is only one deer in these pictures that we will shot. The big 8 in the 1st picture he is mature and will be a good deer for my son.

I have hunted both sides. I use to know a guy that was on the lease property. I killed a big axis off the "ranch" side many years ago. woot
