Building a 300 black out for running down pigs. I've got all the parts except for a handguard.
I really like the Troy Alpha rail but can't see spending $180 on one.
I want a handguard that is 15" long and if it has rails I really only want one on top with the ability to add a small rail section for a light or a Harris bipod.
What would yall suggest?

That is a real good deal on that Seekins at Primary Arm. I bought a ALG Defense 13 in from Primary Arma back in May for $90 it was a holiday weekend sale as well.

Look on Ebay, you can get a nice one for $70. I've bought many off there.
I would never pay those ridiculous prices for a handguard.

BCM KMR.....available in various lengths including 15". Rail sections can be placed where you need them.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

I would never pay those ridiculous prices for a handguard. Thanks Doc, you did like I did. Mid guards cost more than pistol, carbine, rifle because they're harder to get cheap, especially when you want the proper length to keep the A2 front sight like me (weird yes). eBay is getting really stupid on what they don't allow too but I found what I needed and I would never consider buying a free float for $80....$90....$150??? Didn't make sense to me on a rifle with nice parts built for less than $500. Others like to see how much they can spend. I try to make the best of frugality.
Pass the gravy.

I really wanted to use the magpul rifle MOE handguard but my gas system is only a carbine length. So if I did that I'd have no way to support the end of the handguard.

Texflip,
Can you send me a pic of the handguard looking from the end of the barrel to the receiver? 903229388three is my number if that would be easier.

This isn't mine but basically what I have. I used an A frame sight that is held in place with set screws and the hand guard retainer is pinned to it.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I say Magpul MOE and if you want to add accessories you can by the Magpul accessory rails. That way you can pick the size of the rails and you don't have them running all the way down the stock if you don't want them. I keep a 5 slot rail on the bottom of my stock and have a UTG picatinny mount bipod that I can quickly move between guns. They MOE handguards are very light weight so you are lugging around one of those heavy quad-rails.

Well after much debate I went ahead and got a Troy vtac from primary arms for $140. I was going to use the faux dissapator style but it would have only cost me 30-40 dollars less.
