Got to do a little dove huntin this weekend. This is my buddy's place outside of Austin. 2 man limit by 10:30 am.. had to be patient but it paid off after a few hours! limits the first day, 2 shy of limit on day 2.. super slow by day 3. Maverick was wore smooth out!

Sounds like yall had fun. Did that one dove get caught in the tree like that after you shot it? I've had many over the years that I made bad shots on but still hit land in trees...I'd just watch them and normally they end up bleeding out or whatever and just fall to the ground.

dove that die in trees are great, then again they are a tough retrieve for both dog and man, so whatever I guess

Yes, got him flying through the thick stuff and he hung himself by the chin on that little mesquite. Mav could smell him but hadn't encountered that before.. didnt think to look up!
